My daughter came home from school the other night with the assignment of writing Haiku. Of course, since it has been so many years since I was in school that she had to remind me Haiku has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third and final line. I had just come home from the barn where I work to pay for her riding lessons. By work, I mean mucking out the stalls of 54 horses. So, I was exhausted, dusty, and not a little fragrant. We each wrote a poem. Here's my attempt:
Horse munch and chew
While We Clean Up All They Doo
This Is Barn Haiku
It got a laugh out of her anyway even though I am certain good poetry of this genre doesn't actually rhyme. :)
